The latest fashion fad for the summer season is finally here. This time it is in the form of temporary metallic tattoo designed and conceptualized by singer Rihanna in collaboration with LA-based jeweler Jacquie Aiche. The temporary metallic tattoos have quite edgy designs and are crafted in silver and gold. Aiche described the jewelry-tattoo collection as the perfect wear to the beach party or to a music festival this summer while releasing the collection recently.
The temporary tattoos, which were recently made available online, have drawn inspiration from both the collaborator's styles and beliefs. Aiche’s ‘rich hippie’ creations and Rihanna’s ‘darker, Gothic side’ is believed to be the inspiration behind the designs. Currently, the tattoos are available in black and glow-in-the-dark gold colors. Each pack contains seven sheets of temporary chokers, armbands, chains, DIY nameplates and more. The tattoos also feature knuckle wraps, cuticles, and gothic letter tattoos as well.
Rihanna, the Barbados-born singer is known to have an extensive collection of body art which includes an Egyptian goddess drawn on her chest and a henna-style tattoo on her hand. Aiche has hinted that more creations are already being planned between her and the singer. According to the designer, the process of designing gothic tattoos and mixing those elements with daintier pieces was fun and that’s why they are already designing a second round of temporary tattoos which will be ‘little softer and sexier with some unexpected inspiration’.
If industry experts are to be believed the metallic tattoos are here to stay and for more than just one season. That’s primarily because you can buy the tattoos in bunches and pay nothing more than $30 for the deal. All these specially-created metallic tattoos are available in Aiche’s website JacquieAiche.com
Jacquie Aiche is a quirky designer who has in a short span of time had a bee-line of celebrities wearing her creations. Though currently she is based in LA, her multi-cultural upbringing (thanks to her Egyptian and American parents) gave rise to a distinctive style. She has successfully merged Native American turquoise relics, fossils and precious gemstones with Middle Eastern gold designs. Her creations have been successfully accepted primarily because they are different from the over-stuffy high-end jewelry. In fact, her signature body chains and finger bracelets have found huge acceptance.
While the just-released temp tattoos look awesome and perfect for the beach parties, we only have to wait for the collaborators to bring out some awe-inspiring designs.
