How to cure hair loss

There can be nothing more satisfying than having a head full of thick and beautiful hair that shines with health. But, loss of hair is an issue which most of the people especially women suffer from nowadays.

The reasons for hair loss can be many including effects of the environment, aging, excessive stress, nutritional deficiencies, excess smoking, hormonal imbalance, genetic factors, infections on the scalp, usage of the wrong hair products, medicines, etc.

There are almost 1,00,00 strands of hair on the scalp and it's considered to be quite normal to shed 50-100 strands of hair in a day. But, once you start to lose more than this range, it is time to think and take necessary actions so that it does not increase and make the condition worse. A number of readily and very easily available ingredients may be used for treating loss of hair right at home.

Below are the 10 best and easiest home remedies which help in controlling hair loss.

1)Hair oil massage

The very first step which you need to take for reducing hair fall is hair oil massage with the right hair oil. The right message on the hair as well as scalp helps in increasing the flow of blood to hair follicles, scalp conditions and enhancing the strength of the roots of the hair. It would also enhance relaxation and reduce the feeling of stress.

You may use almond oil or coconut oil, castor oil, olive oil, amla oil, etc. Add some drops of Rosemary essential oil to basic oil for faster and better results. Certain other types of oil that you may use include Emu oil, Wheat germ oil, and Argan oil.

Massage your hair and scalp with any of the oils which have been mentioned above with very light pressure with the help of your fingertips.

Do it at least one time a week.
 

2) Indian Gooseberries

For fast and natural growth of hair, you may also use Indian gooseberries which are also called amla. The Indian gooseberries are quite rich in Vitamin C, the deficiency of which causes hair loss.

The anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and exfoliating properties which are present in the Indian gooseberries may help in maintaining a healthy and clean scalp and may also help in promoting the growth of hair.

  1. Mix 1 tbsp. of Indian gooseberries in lemon juice.
  2. Massage the scalp and hair with this mixture thoroughly. Then cover your hair with a shower cap.
  3. Leave it in the head overnight and then shampoo in the morning.

 

 3) Fenugreek

Fenugreek which is also called methi is quite effective in the treatment of hair loss the fenugreek seeds have hormone antecedents which increase the growth of hair and also help in rebuilding the hair follicles. They also have protein and nicotine acids which stimulate the growth of hair.

1.     Soak 1 cup fenugreek in water for a night.

2.     Grind them for making a paste in the morning.

3.     Apply this paste on the hair and then cover it with a shower cap. Leave it on for approximately 40 minutes and then rinse with warm water.

4.     Follow this every day at least for one month.

 
 4)Onion juice

Onion juice is quite helpful in treating loss of hair because of its high content of sulfur which helps in improving the circulation of blood to hair follicles as well as reducing the inflammation.

Anti-bacterial properties in the onion juice are also quite helpful in killing parasites as well as germs and treating scalp infections which may cause loss of hair.

According to a study in 2002, a study was published in the Dermatology Journal, almost 74% of study subjects who used onion juice on their scalp experienced prominent hair regrowth.

  1. Extract the onion juice by grating it and strain it. Apply this juice on the scalp directly. Leave it on the scalp for approximately thirty minutes and wash it off. Finally, rinse your hair.
  2. Mix 3 tbsp. of onion juice and 2 tbsp. aloe vera. You may also add 1 tbsp. olive oil. Apply the mixture on the scalp and leave it for half an hour and rinse it off.

 

5)Aloe vera

Aloe vera has got enzymes that promote healthy growth of hair directly. Also, the alkalizing properties it has helped in bringing the scalp as well as hair’s pH level to a desirable level that may promote the growth of hair greatly.
 

Regular usage may also help in relieving itching on the scalp, reduce redness as well as inflammation on the scalp, add more strength as well as luster to the hair and also alleviate dandruff. Aloe vera gel as well as the juice work quite efficiently on the hair.

  1. Apply the aloe vera juice or gel on the scalp.
  2. Leave it for a couple of hours on the hair and rinse it off with water.
  3. Repeat this process 3-4 times a week.

You may also have 1 tbsp. aloe vera juice daily with an empty stomach for enjoying a much better growth of hair.
 

6)Licorice root

Liquorice root which is an herb also helps in preventing loss of hair as well as damage to hair.

The properties of this herb help in opening up the pores, soothing the scalp and also help in getting rid of irritation on the scalp. This home remedy is quite effective for dandruff, baldness as well as the loss of hair.

  1. Mix 1 tbsp. of grounded liquorice root in 1 cup of mil with a one-quarter spoon of saffron. Thoroughly mix it up.
  2. Apply this paste on the bald patch before going to bed and leave it overnight.
  3. Rinse off the hair in the morning.
  4. Follow it at least once a week.

You may also consume liquorice in form of liquorice tea thrice a day.
 

7)Chinese hibiscus

The flower of Chinese hibiscus has a lot of natural properties that help in treating loss of hair. Along with promoting the growth of hair, it may also be used for curing dandruff, preventing split ends, thickening hair and preventing premature greying of hair.

  1. Add ten flowers of Chinese Hibiscus in 2 cups of coconut oil.
  2. Heat the mixture till it chars. Strain it and collect the remaining oil.
  3. Apply this oil on the hair before bedtime.
  4. In the morning rinse off your hair.
  5. Repeat it a couple of times.

You may also prepare tea with the flower and use it as a rinse for the hair for encouraging healthy growth.
 

8)Beetroot

The juice of beetroot contains protein, carbohydrates, potassium, calcium, vitamins C and B and phosphorus. All the nutrients are crucial for the healthy growth of hair.

·        Include fresh juice of beetroot in your everyday diet. Along with this, add spinach juice, lettuce juice, alfalfa juice, or carrot’s juice to get healthy hair.

·        Alternatively, you can also grind some beetroot leaves, boil it in water along with some henna and then apply this paste on the scalp. Leave the mixture on the hair for 15-20 minutes and then rinse it off. Repeat the process a couple of times in a week.
 

9)Flaxseeds

Flaxseeds are known to be quite rich in Omega 3 fatty acids which help in preventing hair loss and also encourage the growth of hair.

For managing loss of hair, have 1 tbsp. of freshly grounded flaxseeds in one glass water every day in the morning. You may also add them to your soups, salads, etc.

You may consume the flaxseed oil simply, or also apply it on the hair. When used in hair oil, it may help in preventing loss of hair and also in strengthening your hair strands.
 

10)Coconut milk

Coconut milk is known to be a very rich source of protein as well as other essential fats which help in promoting the growth of hair and it also helps in preventing loss of hair. When applied on the hair, it offers fast results.

You may prepare fresh coconut-milk even at home by just adding freshly grounded coconut in water.

  1. Let the oil simmer for five minutes and then strain it.
  2. Once it cools down, apply it thoroughly on the scalp and hair. Leave it for 20 minutes and rinse it off.

 

For making this treatment even more effective, you may also mix powdered fenugreek seeds and black pepper in the coconut milk.
