Madonna Recruits Top Designers for Rebel Tour

Whenever Madonna announces a new tour, her fans immediately understand that it also indicates the launch of new, dramatic costumes. Madonna’s 2015 tour, called the Rebel Tour, which will start in September, is already in the news. The pop star has announced the list of top designers, some known and some unknown, who are going to collaborate with her to design the costumes for the tour.

The Rebel Heart World Tour, which is named after her 13th studio album, will see the likes of Jeremy Scott, Alessandro Michele from Gucci, Italian designer Fausto Puglisi, Alexander Wang, Miuccia Prada and Lebanese designer Nicolas Jebran come together. Madonna has been regularly posting snippets of her looks on Instagram – of the work done with her long-time costume designer the Academy Award-nominated Arianne Phillips.

The World Tour which will commence from Montreal on September 9 is expected to be the platform where Madonna will showcase that she’s still the queen of pop. The group of designers that Madonna has selected for the tour isn’t completely unexpected as she has been working with a few for several years now. Recently she wore Scott’s Moschino designs for the Met Gala in May. She also chose full Moschino regalia for her last video “Bitch I’m Madonna”. Puglisi has been collaborating with Madonna since the Music days when he would design the accessories for her.

Madonna was one of the pioneers who took fashion designers aboard for her world-famous tours. The results have always been fascinating. It had all started when in 1990Madonna had asked Gaultierto to design the costumes for her Blonde Ambition World Tour. Gaultier was the man who had designed the now-iconic coned bra and today they continue to collaborate. The duo has worked together in2001’s Drowned World, 2006’s Confession, and 2012’sMDNA.

Previously, famous designers such as Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, Dolce &Gabbana, Prada and Christian Lacroix have worked with the pop star. Surprisingly, Versace is not in this year’s list of designers, though this name was expected. Madonna had even appeared in a 2015 advertising campaign for the brand.
