New Baoli Collection To Be Seen at International Jewelry London

At the upcoming International Jewelry London fair, Flora Bhattachary a fine jewelry designer will be launching her latest Baoli collection.

The designer’s latest collection has been inspired by the linear architecture and dramatic carving found on ancient Indian water temples or ‘Baoli’. Thus in Bhattachary’s new collection, a lot of geometric cocktail rings, angular earrings and pendants will be seen. She has made use of precious stones such as black diamonds, dark sapphires, and rubies in the collection. All the items have a satin finish in 18-carat yellow gold.

While elaborating on her latest collection, Bhattachary told that spectacular geometric structures have inspired her immensely. The temples, according to her, were not just places of worship but also places that acted as boundaries between earth and heaven. She tried to bring together this essence by using rich blue sapphire with 18-carat gold. She also said that she found evocative love stories about widowed queens in these places which also acted as her inspiration.

Bhattachary has been hand-picked and is one of the 10 designers, who have been selected by IJL and BJA. These designers will get the chance to showcase their collections on the Kick Start stand. Meanwhile, in 2015’s Editor’s Choice Awards, Bhattachary has been commended for “Visual Impact”.
