How To Spot fake Moldavite versus real
- Every Moldavite is distinctive; just like snowflakes, none of them are the same. If numerous pieces have the same shape, they are not genuine Moldavite.
- If the Moldavite looks shiny or wet. It is an imitation produced from non-etched glass.
- If the stone has no bubbles or inclusions and seems flawlessly clean like glass or diamond, it is undoubtedly glass.
- If the Moldavite has a glossy green color like a Heineken bottle, it is probably a rendered bottle of Heineken.
- If you are getting the same stone at a significantly cheaper price, it is probably a hoax. The cost of Moldavite is calculated per gram.
- If it is claimed or being marketed that the Moldavite is found somewhere other than in the Czech region, it is undoubtedly fake. Nowhere else in the world you will find this rare stone.
- If the Moldavite has another color than green or brown, it is automatically fake.
- Buy from a trusted and expert seller – Buy from a shop that knows about Moldavite and are selling them for a very long time. Fakes can make their entrance into retail shops, so it is best to buy with a professional crystal shop or Moldavite veteran who knows Moldavite.
